Maruti Suzuki India has reported a 30% year-on-year increase
in its total sales at 1,78,248 units in December 2024 as compare to 1,37,551
units in December 2023. Total domestic passenger vehicle wholesales were at
1,40,829 units in December 2024 as compared with 1,10,667 units in the year-ago
month, a growth of 27.25%.
Sales of mini segment cars, comprising Alto and S-Presso,
stood at 7,418 units in December 2024 as against 2,557 units in December 2023.
Sales of compact cars, including Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and
WagonR, increased to 54,906 units in December 2024 as compared to 45,741 units
in the year-ago month. Utility vehicles, consisting of Brezza, Ertiga, Fronx,
Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny and XL6, clocked sales of 55,651 units in December
2024 as compared to 45,957 units earlier.
Sales of van Eeco were at 11,678 units in December 2024 as
against 10,034 units in December 2023, while that of light commercial vehicle
Super Carry stood at 2,406 units as against 1,714 units earlier. The company’s
exports in December 2024 stood at 37,419 units as compared to 26,884 units in
the same month last year.
